Allied Reinsurance Group cut reinsurance reconciliation from 21 days to 2 and won a $200M treaty with verifiable onchain reporting
A reinsurance carrier was spending three weeks every quarter reconciling ceded premium and claims with 14 ceding companies, each on a different system. A permissioned ledger with verifiable reporting collapsed reconciliation, eliminated $1.4M in annual dispute leakage, and won a $200M treaty because the cedent could verify the books in real time.

This is an illustrative case study. Company names, identifying details, and testimonials have been changed to protect client confidentiality. The technical solution and target outcomes are representative of the work we do. We extend the same confidentiality to every client.
Where they started
Allied Reinsurance Group wrote $1.8B in treaty business across 14 ceding companies, and every quarter was a reconciliation fire drill. Each cedent reported ceded premium, claims, and bordereaux on their own template, in their own format, often 10 days late. Allied's 6-person accounting team spent 21 days matching figures, and an average of $1.4M a year leaked through in disputes that were never resolved because neither side could prove the underlying numbers. A prospective $200M property treaty had stalled for two quarters because the cedent — a European carrier with strict Solvency II reporting — couldn't get the real-time visibility into ceded exposure their regulators required.
What we built
We deployed a permissioned ledger platform on our Blockchain & Web3 stack that anchors every ceded premium, claim, and bordereaux entry to an immutable, tamper-evident trail shared between Allied and each cedent. Verifiable credentials let cedents and their auditors verify exposure, bordereaux, and settlements in real time without exposing underlying policy data. A real-time reinsurance dashboard gives Allied's accounting team a live view of every treaty, every cedent, and every pending reconciliation item. Regulators and cedent auditors get a read-only portal that answers their questions in minutes. The platform went live across all 14 cedents in 16 weeks.
Target outcomes
More from this project
We spent three weeks a quarter arguing about numbers neither side could prove. Now both sides look at the same ledger and the argument is over before it starts. The $200M treaty came down to one thing — the cedent could verify our books in real time, and our competitors couldn't.
