ShopWave unified 47 stores and 3 warehouses into one real-time inventory system
A mid-size retailer with 47 stores and 3 warehouses was losing $2.8M a year to stockouts and abandoned carts. We built a headless omnichannel storefront with real-time inventory sync — and recovered the margin in the first quarter.
ShopWave had 47 physical stores, an online store, and 3 warehouses — all running on different systems that hadn't agreed on a stock count in years. Online orders showed inventory that didn't exist, leading to cancellations and angry customers. Physical stores were overstocked on slow movers and empty on bestsellers. Cart abandonment sat at 78% because the checkout was slow and trust was low. The merchandising team spent every Monday reconciling spreadsheets instead of planning the season.
We deployed our headless e-commerce storefront (Ecom Store) with a real-time inventory sync layer connecting every store, warehouse, and the online channel into one source of truth. Automated reorder points trigger when stock hits a threshold, an abandoned cart recovery engine sends personalized email/SMS sequences, and a unified pricing engine keeps every channel in sync. The merchandising team now sees a single live dashboard instead of 50 spreadsheets.
For the first time, we can see every product, every channel, every customer in one system. The stockouts stopped in the first month. The abandoned cart recovery alone paid for the platform — we recovered $1.2M in the first quarter that was just vanishing before.
