Where they started
CarePlus's 31 clinics across 6 states ran a patchwork of medical devices, EHR terminals, and cloud apps. After a phishing attack got one step from exfiltrating 40,000 patient records, an external pentest surfaced 1,400 unpatched vulnerabilities — and no way to tell which ones actually mattered. The security team was two people, cyber insurance was threatening to double the premium, and a HIPAA audit was 90 days out.
What we built
We deployed our Aegis AI security posture platform with continuous threat-surface mapping, AI-driven vulnerability prioritization that scores risk against CarePlus's actual environment, and automated remediation guidance. The two-person security team now works a prioritized queue instead of a 1,400-line spreadsheet, and compliance reporting generates on demand.
