Maple Grove School District unified 11 disconnected systems and gave leadership one source of truth
A 14-school district was running 11 different systems — SIS, LMS, transport, food service, HR, finance and more — that didn't talk to each other. A custom integration layer collapsed them into a single source of truth, eliminated 19,000 hours of manual data entry a year, and surfaced $1.2M in misallocated budget.

Where they started
Maple Grove's 14 schools and central office ran 11 different systems: a student information system, an LMS, a transport vendor portal, a food service POS, an HR platform, a finance tool, a facilities app, a parent communication tool, a library system, a special-education case manager, and a state reporting tool. None of them shared data. Staff re-keyed the same student and staff records across systems — accounting for an estimated 19,000 hours of manual data entry a year — and every report to the school board was a week-long exercise in reconciling numbers that should already have matched. A 2024 internal audit found $1.2M in misallocated budget that no single system could see.
What we built
We built a custom integration layer on our Custom APIs & Integration platform that connects all 11 systems into one governed data fabric, with a master student and staff record, automated sync schedules, and a leadership dashboard that pulls enrollment, attendance, finance, HR and operations into one view. State reporting now generates automatically from the master record, and the integration layer flags data mismatches the moment they appear instead of at month-end reconciliation.
