Nimbus Fulfillment tripled order throughput and cut picking errors by 83% with a real-time warehouse management system
A 3PL serving 40+ DTC brands was drowning in peak-season volume — picking errors, lost inventory, and 6-day shipping SLAs. A warehouse management platform with bin mapping, pick-path optimization, and real-time reorder alerts turned their 120K sq ft facility into a same-day shipping machine.

This is an illustrative case study. Company names, identifying details, and testimonials have been changed to protect client confidentiality. The technical solution and target outcomes are representative of the work we do. We extend the same confidentiality to every client.
Where they started
Nimbus Fulfillment operated a 120,000 sq ft warehouse serving 40 direct-to-consumer brands, and peak season was breaking them. Pickers wandered the warehouse using paper pick lists with no optimized path, averaging 18 minutes per order. Picking errors hit 4.2% — meaning 1 in 24 orders shipped wrong, triggering returns, re-shipments, and chargebacks. Inbound receiving was a bottleneck with no dock scheduling, and bin locations were tracked in a spreadsheet that was wrong 30% of the time. During Black Friday week, shipping SLAs slipped to 6 days and two major clients threatened to leave.
What we built
We deployed our Warehouse OS platform with full bin mapping across the facility, optimized pick paths that route pickers in the shortest possible loop, a barcode-driven pick/pack/ship workflow on handheld scanners, and an inbound receiving queue with dock scheduling. Real-time stock levels with reorder alerts ensure no bin goes empty during peak. The system integrates with each client's e-commerce platform via API, so orders flow in automatically and shipping confirmations flow back the moment a label prints.
Target outcomes
More from this project
Black Friday used to be a nightmare we dreaded for months. Last year we shipped 12,000 orders a day and every one went out same-day. The pick-path optimization alone cut our labor cost per order in half. We didn't lose a single client — we actually signed three new ones who came from competitors that couldn't keep up.
