TrustVault Custody cut compliance audit time by 63% with an immutable onchain audit trail

A regulated digital-asset custodian was spending a fortune proving to auditors that client assets were safe and segregated. A permissioned ledger with verifiable credentials and immutable audit trails turned a 6-week audit into a 9-day one — and won them a new institutional mandate.

This is an illustrative case study. Company names, identifying details, and testimonials have been changed to protect client confidentiality. The technical solution and target outcomes are representative of the work we do. We extend the same confidentiality to every client.

/ The challenge

Where they started

TrustVault held $1.4B in client digital assets and was audited quarterly by three different regulators. Proving segregation of assets, transaction provenance, and KYC on every wallet required stitching together logs from 5 systems into spreadsheets — a 6-week fire drill every quarter. A single failed audit would have cost them their custody license. They'd also lost a $300M institutional mandate because the prospect couldn't verify their controls in real time.

/ The solution

What we built

We built a permissioned ledger platform on our Blockchain & Web3 stack that anchors every custody movement, KYC record, and authorization to an immutable, tamper-evident trail. Verifiable credentials let auditors and institutional clients verify asset segregation and provenance instantly without exposing underlying data. A real-time Web3 dashboard gives the compliance team a live view of every wallet, token movement, and authorization. Regulators now get a read-only portal that answers their questions in minutes instead of weeks.

More from this project

Audits used to be the worst part of our year. Now the regulator logs into a portal and answers their own questions. Winning the $300M mandate came down to one thing — the prospect could verify our controls in real time, and our competitors couldn't.
